I over dosed on Limictal. I'm really scared. It was an accident. My dr. was giving me sample packs so I wouldn't have to pay for a perscription. In the pack there are tiny white pills...you have to build yourself up on this med very very slowly. I worked up to 200mg. The 200mg tablet changes in size and color. When I was filling my medicine thingy(pills by days)
I must have added a pink one accidently. Anyway they were down the hatch before I relized what I had done. So instead of taking my 200mg dose I took 400mg. I called the pharmacy, she didn't seem too worried, but she has called me back to check up on me. (I thought she wasn't worried)
So anyway, I'm scared. I have become very slow...don't think I have ever been so relaxed and my speech is slow. I'm scared to go lay down and go to sleep. I'm sure no one else has done this so i can get some feed back on how you faired?

Have you called your doctor.? I would go to ER. I know the med needs to be gradually increased . Get to the ER.

OH you guys, I can't go to the ER, I don't have insurance. Now I'M REALY scared.

it takes a very large overdose to put yourself in any danger, the pharmacist was probably just checking back to make sure nothing unexpected happens. overdoses like you took aren't dangerous, but they will make you very sleepy, and you might go to sleep for much of the day. if you don't have some other pressing matters today, falling asleep should okay. i'd say just let go and enjoy the relaxation while it lasts!

I would be a little more cautious than just going down and going to sleep. This might not hurt you at all, but we are not doctors so you either need to call you doctor or go to ER just to be safe.

Call another phamacist and get their opinnion too. If neither one is real concerned I think you will be ok.

Symptoms of Lamictal overdose may include:
Coma, decreased level of consciousness, delayed heartbeat, increased seizures, lack of coordination, rolling eyeballs

Do you have any of these symptoms? I tried to look up mg dosage that would be considered an OD but couldn't locate anything.

I'd at least phone the ER.

i dont know how long ago this happened, but if its been a few hours you should be ok...i would call the docotor to be sure!!! you might feel awful for a while but i think you should be fine by tomorrow....

The second pharmist thought I would be ok too. He said the normal dose is usually 400 mg, but if I had any other symptoms I should go to the ER

BTW, I am sorry I Titled this thread overdose, I just realized it might scare people, so I'm sorry.

what I can find online is...

Symptoms of overdose may include: unusual sleepiness, severe loss of coordination, and loss of consciousness.

call the doctor hon. I am on lamictal and have missed days on it and jumped up a dose before it was time. the sample packs can sometimes confuse us. I would suggest that you call the doc or your local ER and ask them.
