Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

You are probably are introverted ....go do a personality test at https://www.16personalities.com/
Introverted people have naturally less resilience to loud environments (cannot be in them for too long). That is okay, you just need to have brain chemicals balanced and then figure out which environments you cannot be in for too long and then just don't go there.
As for the experimenting with solutions: after cutting out dietary "uppers" like sugar and caffeine, I realized how much they affected my mood... And the huge crash that would follow once I didn't have it for a day. So I bared the initial crash, then cut myself off. Made me much more level! Gradual exercise helps build motivation and endorphins and I was able to stay off meds for 15 years between diet and exercise... til surprise abusive relationship troubles triggered a major crash. Also, I randomly realized when I was on or starting birth control pills that that is when I crashed in college, and again with a hormone supplement more recently is when I made the connection. Turns out estrogen can cause major depression for some women. For others it's the progesterone (my sister was a bear every month the day she got her Depo shot). Keep an eye on any possible hormone triggers, as doctors often forget to consider this, but it is HUGE for some women. Good luck, and please know you are not alone.
Big hugs.
If you're angry at DEPRESSION...you have a right to be. It's a miserable, difficult disease to deal with.
