Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
But it seems like you have your head on straight; you're not living in fantasy land. You recognize that there are cliques in the group, but you're still enjoying the camaraderie of socializing with them. What's wrong with that? Nothing.
There is nothing wrong with you, but you have run into some odd people lately! My only guess is that this host was projecting his feelings on the situation. Maybe he saw that you weren't in a clique and just ASSUMED that you felt bad about it.
Anyway, "this too shall pass." ;) It's just a few weird experiences, but it's more about these strange people than it is about you. Try not to let it affect how you feel about yourself.
But please, don't give up, don't leave the group. You belong as much as anybody there. The host sounds like kind of a jerk who doesn't know what he's talking about.
Awful, just awful. I'm so so sorry that that happened to you. Please rewind and erase it if possible. (Wish our brains did work that way.)
There are a lot other support groups out there who would appreciate you. You have all of us on DS.
Healing Hugs, Snail
I hope there is someone else who sub hosts the group that you can turn to and discuss this with.
I can imagine the hurt and rejection you feel.
My support groups are the only place I feel safe to share my woes etc with so I can guess how gutted you are feeling!! Hugs.x
