Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
If you are NOT ready for inpatient treatment, focus on the reasons for feeling low. Therapists are not required to report us for feeling low.
If you are ready for inpatient treatment show the entire note; sharing a full blown suicide note with a therapist may force them to call the authorities and have you taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Please post back and let us know how you are doing, and what you have decided to do.
Please DO NOT follow through with committing suicide. I know life is tough and there are times when life really stinks and you feel like just giving up! Do NOT give up! You are a valuable person. You have a gift that is so important to learn how to use so that you may help others who are right where you are now. I am going to give you a "Hot Line" phone number for you to call;
"National Suicide Prevention Hot Line" 1-800-2738255. Call this number immediately, the counselors are standing by waiting to help you! We here at Daily Strength are here for you also, waiting and wanting to help you!
I am going to pray for you;
Father God,
You are our wise and wonderful God and Counselor. You love each and everyone of us. Thank you! Please be with Stephen1945, give him a glimmer of hope. Help him to see you LORD Jesus. He has no where else to go right now. I plead the blood of Jesus over him. Protect him from killing himself. Put someone immediately in his life who can redirect him and help him to find a purpose for living.
In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen
Believe it or not, there are others who also feel so isolated , lonely and forgotten. I read over your previous posts to learn more about you. I think your reaching out on here is a good first step.
I have been where you are right now. I watched as the world was going by without me. I too was deep in that dark black hole seeing no way out. I also wrote my message...but it was in a journal. To me, all I could do was write in a book .I thought about it for some time...even considered what it would do to those left behind. I felt bad, but i knew they would just be sad for a little while.... Who would miss me that much?
I was lucky. My older sister was at the house and already worried. She saw what I wrote, talked to me, and got me to mental health where i would do an inpatient stay. Here I would come across some caring counselors, others going through the same (and some far worse) things as me and it would be a major turning point in my life.
AS BAD AS THINGS MAY SEEM , THIS COULD VERY WELL BE THE LOW POINT THAT WILL SHOW YOU HOW VERY GOOD LIFE CAN BECOME AS YOU TAKE THOSE FIRST STEPS ONTO THE GOOD STUFF.
So at this point he is still with us...amongst the living. I did share with him that I (as well as you all) were very worried and actually DO CARE . I now how much it does matter to not feel so very alone.
So, here's hoping our thoughts and prayers .....sharing our experiences, willingness to listen to his pain and struggles may all help him back on his path to a better life.
