Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Baby steps have helped me throughout my life and believe me when I say that I'm still wobbly walking new or unfamiliar paths.
You are an HSP, highly sensitive person. It is a gift and a curse. It is our goal in life to maximize the gift side and make it serve us.
I've just listened to this song again. it's a tearjerker, but it's wrong. People don't remember things. Whatever we did last week, if we stop ballsing up today they will be happy with us. it takes so little for people to forget.
And if you are anything like I was, that big 'kick me' sign on the forehead was something that had to go. Looking like I felt inadequate. Looking like I felt inferior. People pick up these signs and respond to them. They don't question the truth of them. They just go with it.
So create a new sign for your forehead, and the people out there will buy it totally in about a week.
Just create the reality you want to live in. Just get out there and act like it's already real. There's a manipulative, dishonest, evil and repulsive woman I work with who is teaching me much about faking it till making it. She doesn't care what anyone thinks, she must have nerves of steel - but here she is, climbing the corporate ladder because she's sending out the confidence vibes and people are soaking that up.
All reality is is neural pathways in other people's minds. Easily overlaid. Easily forgotten. Make a new world, make a new you. shut the door on yesterday and change from today.
As you've reached out with such personal information I would never try to disregard your feelings but what you're describing are mighty strong emotions and it makes question how long have you felt this way?
Have you ever been bullied before as a child or an adult that may have brought on these feelings?
And while your thoughts may be unrealistic to what's really going on around you I don't doubt they are also very real to you just the same and I certainly understand your not wanting to open up to new people.
But say you give meeting people a chance without pre judging them. Just think of the possibly friendships and new relationships you could get out of it. And as you say you have no family some of my best friends I consider my family.
As things the way they are now do you enjoy being alone or would you rather have someone to talk to and spend time with? If the answer is no then perhaps you could reexamine your past relationships without focusing too much and determine what went wrong and advoid those same mishaps in your relationships going forward.
Life can be hard and while we beat ourselves up at the same time it can become brutal but we were not meant to do it alone.
And as two is certainly way better then one with good friends by your side you will notice life really wasn't that bad after all.
Go out on a leap of faith and take a chance on someone and while you're at it you might as well take a chance on yourself too.
And in the meantime I challenge you to find within yourself the good qualities you could bring to new friendships.
Thank You for sharing...
