Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I have been adjusting my dose on Luvox. My psych started bringing me down on my dosage, so I could change meds. I thought it had stopped working. On the way down, 25mg drop in dose every 2 weeks, I started feeling better. We botn decided to hold at 150mg. It was short lived. I decided to go back from 150mg up 50mg to 200mg, my "golden dose" in 1 week. I stopped at 200mg even. Now, 2 weeks later, about 3 days ago, I hit the optimum dose. My depression has lifted by 80% over the last 5 days! I'm working my butt off on my poor neglected house, I have accomplished more in the last 5 days than I did in 5 months while depressed. I haven't slept a wink in 3 days. I'm tired, but I can't stop thinking about working on my house to get it back to the way it was when I built it. I'm pushing myself pretty hard to not set on my butt, I want to keep this motivation alive! I hope the depression stays at bay. I see my psych again tomorrow, I need to ask her for something to help me sleep. I know most of you are not professionals in this area. I would still be interested in hearing what some of you take to help you sleep. My Valium Won't even touch it! The sleep drugs like Ambien do not work at all for me, which I don't mind, because the doing stuff while still asleep scares the hell out of me! My ex-wife was taking Ambien, went to the bathroom at night, but missed it by one door and took a ride down the stairs very quickly! Lol She was fine, she slid all the way down on her butt. The next day, I went and bought a permanent gate to the stairs, which was smart, because she would have done it again the same week had I not put the gate up. Can you imagine trying to convince the cops that I didn't push her down the stairs? She was sleep walking and fell down the stairs asleep! She also sleep drove and ended up in jail at 6:30am taking her kids to school. I feel good, I hope I don't crash and burn into depression again. I need help sleeping, what did your psych prescribe? I would just like a list of meds, so I can talk to her about each one. Thank you in advance. Ted
