Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I've tried talking to people... And I just keep being told "do something about it and stop crying"
It isn't that simple... I try to do something about it... I've tried for years... I'm on medication as well...
So just know you are not alone in how you feel. I'm another person you can talk to if you need.
something happens and the people watching that child can see, it can go one of two ways. And the child makes a choice. You can see him make the choice.
So if a child consistently chooses to cry, that is where they will end up. And if they consistently choose to be brave, that is where they will end up.
If your friends are telling you to choose the other way, you have to learn where that moment of choice sits, and how to access it. You may have lost it as a small child. People can screw that up and nowadays, with creches, even more children can lose access to that inner space and that special moment of choice.
I found it in me again in about 2013. at the age of 43. It exists, choice and power and control exist. You have to just choose, and the choice will be made.
But in the mean-time, I had to learn this space by getting a lot of help. so get your help, and then look for this space inside you. Your friends won't understand where you are lost, they only know where the path is. Use them to learn about the path.
