Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Also, there are MANY, MANY different meds and doses. Perhaps you will benefit from an adjustment.
Also there are a number of home remedies, including various kinds of tea. I find that rose petal tea is very helpful. All you do if put some fresh rose petals in boiling water and add sugar for taste (optional).
You also might want to put more items into your diet that contain D-vitamins and other nutrients that help your body absorb melatonin (provided by the sun).
I personally have found that diet makes a huge difference for me. I have no idea what type of diet you maintain, but regardless I am sure there is some work you can do on it (we all can!).
I hear that yoga and other meditative exercises are helpful, though I can't tell you from personal experience.
I've also heard that nutmeg is quite helpful.
Try just typing "home remedies for depression" in a google search - lots of stuff comes up. Keep playing around with things until you find something that works for you.
It is laborious, and takes creativity and determination.
The thing that most helped me is recognizing that I can take back control over my thoughts...the negative stuff that goes on in my head was not ok, and I had to change it. I now counter negative thoughts with positive ones, and I affirm myself each day.
exercise helps greatly, my personal fave is swimming and just stretching out my muscles.
Meditation also helps, I am not very good at it yet, but it is certainly relaxing.
For anxiety I use breathing techniques.
there is most certainly hope for depression without medication. Much luck, and peace to you.
