I’m there with you!! I’m anxious and depressed everyday I had to come off all my meds in June after being on different ones for over 17 years, they weren’t helping and I wanted to try to fix the deep routed issues ... I’m on disability from work and am super grateful to be with my kids more but I can’t help but completely fear the future and wonder what will fill this pain I have inside .,, I’m here if you need to chat, your not alone even though it feels very lonely

Seeking support is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. There's nothing to feel bad about by expressing your feelings. Our emotions serve a purpose and are demanding to be listened to. Unfortunately, we live in a society that seems to put too much emphasis on suppressing emotions and to just "suck it up." This sort of attitude can be detrimental to mental health, in my unprofessional opinion. I find this platform especially great because you can anonymously share your feelings and seek advice. Having trustworthy and close friends as well as this service should help you if you remain consistent in sharing your feelings. Don't suppress your emotions as they will only get louder. In some ways, emotions are a beautiful part of being human. Just remember they serve a purpose. Look at its function. Find activities you enjoy and lose yourself in them. Not to distract yourself from the emotions, but to take a break. Try being grateful for a few minutes everyday, perhaps in the morning and before going to bed. Think about two or three things you're grateful for and WHY. Also, think of ways you can be grateful for even the seemingly so-called "negative" emotions you may feel. For example, if you're feeling anxious about something, a reason to be grateful for anxiety is how it's actually trying to protect you. By changing your relationship with your emotions, instead of trying to suppress them, you can make room for these feelings. Just by acknowledging the emotions can quiet them down a little. Even if they don't quiet down, it's okay too. The emotions are just demanding to be heard. Some emotions are helpful, others are not. Think about what helps you and what is not helping you. Take time to meditate and throw out any unhelpful thoughts. Wish you all the best! Take care.

Feel free to post anytime. Online support groups like this are very helpful. When I was going through empty nest syndrome, I found comfort after I posted in one of the parents' online support groups. I hope you will find comfort here as well.
