Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

When I start having negative thoughts about myself, I try to figure out what is going on in my life to cause me to go down this road. Am I allowing a lot of negativity into my life? Am I comparing myself to others? (this is a big one that will send me into a downward spiral!) Having I been taking care of myself..physically, mentally and emotionally? I know it' so easy to invest in other people, but not take the same care of ourselves. Self care is important. When I start having negative thoughts or feeling anxious, I try to replace those negative thoughts with a positive one or two! We do have the power to counteract the negative thoughts and the choice not to believe them. Sometimes we just have to dig a lot deeper within ourselves to find the strength to do it. Having a couple of good friends/support system that I can go to no matter what is helpful as well. They love me no matter how I am feeling or what I have to say. Finding 1 or 2 friends like that may help you as well. I just want you to know you are valuable for who you are, not for how you look or what you do. You are worthwhile just because you are you! You have so much to offer this world. Don't get caught up in believing the lies in your head! You are bigger then they are!
Seeing a therapist might not be a bad idea as well. Wishing you the best!
