It is Abilify. I tried it but had side effects and drowsiness. I am sensitive to meds though. Hope it works for you. Hang in there.

i just asked my DR about it today and she would not prescribe. Said to many side affects she is not comfortable with and said only a phychiatrist should prescribe and monitor, nor a primary care like in my case. Good luck

Abilify to me was the strongest sedative I've ever taken. I literally could not get up and move. At that time, I had it in combination with Zoloft and Wellbutrin, and then only with Wellbutrin. LOTS of caffeine was not able to make even the slightest change (even with taking caffeine pills - NoDoz) so my doc told me to stop it after about 5 days of laying and sleeping all the time. Still took a few more days to get the sleepies out of my system.

drugs for depression can be very tricky esp. if you are taking more than 1 drug these type of drugs have to be moniterd because of the high risk of drug interaction. it takes time to get the drug combination that works best for you.

I was on it for a while. It made me very sick. There are several other drugs in the same class with different side effect profiles that have similar method of action. I am on geodon now (similar drug but different) it makes my depression controllable but it makes me fat I might have to stop taking it.

Also not that it is a big deal but it isn't new, they just started advertising it.

If it is Abilify, my doc tried to push me on to it about a year ago now. I've been on Lexapro, 50mgs at night just to sleep.

I see no good reports here on Abilify and have to say that's what I found when I first looked, back then. Some good of course but the side effects sounded too much for me.

The one I couldn't accept was something like continual restlessness, can't remember the words but it sounded like constant anxiety to me. Some sort of agitation I think it was.

I'd rather stay awake than feel that stuff again, dreadful.

Serowuel, by the way, is usually for BP, which I am but I take a small dose as I cannot get to sleep any more unless I have something. Lying there for hours on end leads only one way, depression.

Actually Seroquel was first used with Schizophrenics. Then somehow they started using it with bipolar. Besides the weight gain and tardive dyskinsia, it wasn't bad. Oh yes, and cognitive impairment.

I was on Abilify in combination with antidepressant. I was not on it long because the doctor changed it to geodone.

I was just put on seroquel for about a week now. It has lessened my depression and done wonders for the anxiety. My pdoc is hoping that I'll just be on it a short time until the zoloft which I started 2 weeks ago kicks in.
