Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hello all,
I am new to this site/group and hope this can be a place where I can find others that understand how I feel and maybe even make friends. I've always had depression since I was a teen and have had suicide attempts in my past. Now I'm around 30, I have been struggling more than usual. I've moved to another state and got a new job. I'm not sure why I thought it could have helped but I was willing to try. However, I've been here 6 months and I cry every morning, feel like crying all day, no one really talks to me at work as I'm still seen as an outsider, and the reason I know my depression is bad is that I've been having thoughts of suicide again.
I generally feel overwhelmed but I'm trying to find a new doctor since moving. So far I've been diagnosed with depression, bipolar, social anxiety, and ptsd (None of the doctors I've seen over the years have diagnosed me the same). I've been on many many meds over the years but for the last year or so I've not been on any, mostly due to getting laid off and no insurance for a while. I'm looking for advice on how you all cope, suggestions, or even just a place to vent. Thank you!!
