Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
When you have depression and you're home alone with no stimulus you can quickly deteriorate into a giant puddle of despair and spaced out weirdness. Keep yourself attached to the world. Keep going into the world. So many charities crying out for helpers, short or long term, and they will ground you with their laughter and their cups of coffee and chit-chat.
I have had losses in life, the grief we bear and depression on top of that does leave you empty and a master of putting on the happy face for others so they won't tell you their "opinions" of how to get you out of it.
Well meaning friends and family say things that hurt while thinking they are truly helping. I back off to protect myself.
We all have stories of why we are where we are at in our lives. I have come to the realization that I cannot wish this away or plead with God to take me home to be with my loved ones, but realizing and visualizing I have been stripped down to where I have to run to God as my strong tower creator and pour my heart out to Him and not friends or people. I have a devotional book I try to read when I can muster up the willingness to read and I'm not in physical pain. Jesus Today by Sarah Young
I also look for tiny miracles while waiting to go to sleep.
I so empathize with you. I'm so sorry you are feeling the pain you feel. I can sincerely say it without judgement and with love. Your new friend KAN3
