Hello everyone,
I have been on Wellbutrin for 9 days now, 100 mg every day for depression. I have noticed the following side effects so far:
-unable to entertain my previous suicidal thoughts
-more attention paid to my personal appearance (was too depressed to care before)
-less sadness overall
-more positive thinking
-more motivation in general
-more energy
-decreased appetite
-I actually went to the gym last night and am so motivated to keep going and get it the best possible shape
-untouched or higher sex drive.
-more concern for my overall health
I know it's kind of soon to tell, but so far this medication has been great for me. All the other reviews I read also stated that they noticed differences within a few days. At the end of the month, I'm supposed to cal my psychiatrist to let him put me on a higher dose if I needed. I have bad anxiety issues so he started me on a low dose, but I'm thinking about switching to 150 mg at the end of May.
Anyone else want to share their experiences taking Wellbutrin?? I've been on Cylexa, Lexapro and Prozac, but nothing worked for me and this seems to work great. My anxiety is untouched, but I can manage that extremely well on my own. I'm happy with this medication so far and am so proud of myself for working out and feeling better!!!!!!!!

Pristiq, I finally found a winner. Im on 300 Mg of the XL [extended release] If you go to 150 mg that's what you will be on too because the SR version doesn't come in that dose.I noticed appositive change within 2 weeks ..some of the things you mentioned..motivation, energy.
Wellbutrin does not adversely affect sex drive or ability. its a completely different drug class and effects mostly dopamine instead of
serotonin.You may find that you lose weight if youre on it for an extended period because it decreases appetite ,so if you don't want to lose, you may have to eat some even when youre not hungry.
