smells like a steaming pile of shit right now.
I don't know why.
It's raining a wee bit here.. and I let her outside for a bit to pee. Then I forgot about her but it wasn't raining much, just spitting by this time. I heard her barking outside. She was chasing our neighbour's cat around. I got her to come back in the house and put her in the back room. She smells like poop. Actually. Usually.. when a dog is wet, they smell like wet dog. Not poop. I wonder if she got into something nasty? I hope not. If she did it is now all over me. Eww.

My question is WHY would she WANT to roll in POO???????

I've heard that dogs will roll on a dead animal because fleas don't like that smell. Maybe she couldn't find a carcass and figured poo would work just as well. At least she didn't eat it!

Canines roll In smelly stuff as a way to cover their own sent , it's a predator thing.. that domestication has not eliminated .

Uh oh. Sounds like she was "rolling". Dogs will, for some reason find the vilest smelling stuff possible, and roll in it. Have never heard why they do that, but my old buddy used to roll in dead salmon and steelhead when I let him loose by the river. I bet that reek is far worse than a little poo. It is all relative, though. Stink is stink. (huggz)

Nasty. We had both dogs and indoor/outdoor cats when I was growing up, and at least two of the dogs liked digging in the sand pits the cats used and eating their poop...ewwwww!!!
