Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Great job taking care of yourself last night.
Is there a school counselor you can reach out to if you need?
With depression we have to learn to be honest. Honest as adults, not honest as children. children tell one side of the story as though that's the correct way to behave. They cry foul when they're hit, and hit others. They are one-sided and biased.
Adults have to see both sides, and be fair. They have to learn to look down from a God's eye view and say, well, to be fair, I was late and still in bed, or well, to be fair I hadn't dressed or fed the chickens. not just 'she shouted at me for no reason'.
You will be less depressed and anxious if you accept a more balanced view. While you tell yourself everyone's out to get you, it's emotionally exciting but actually will lead to despair. When you start to see their point of view and see how hard you can be to live with sometimes, you don't have to feel so trodden on. And maybe you can up your game, and maybe when you do that, you won't get shouted at.
