Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
But that may be just me.
Sorry, does this answer your question?
I remember asking a girl from Australia where she lived there. Hell, you would have thought I was going to show up on her door step. I don't even know where Australia is. All I know is they have kangaroos, something called an outback and a lot of poisonous spiders. I was really just trying to make conversation. You know like, what's the weather like where you are and so on. So, there is no harm in asking. Tthose who don't mind will tell you. Those who do mind won't tell you. Whatever. You can still be friends with them.
By the way, I live somewhere in Louisiana. I am a transplant, I was born in GA and raised in AL. So, I am southern to the bone.
that it amazes me that I ever get thought about, let alone mentioned.
Personally I don't respond to "i'm gonna cut!" threads, or "I'm gonna off myself" threads. But I wouldn't tell others not to respond to them. It's just clearly not my calling. I am able to respond to posts like "I don't know what to do anymore", or "I'm just so down, don't know if I can go on.." type threads. People asking for help that way, those I can relate to.
I think it would be better for someone to know that people care enough to ask where they are when they have been active most of the time and then become quiet. A lot of people on here have exchanged email and phone numbers with their friends. Those friends should know if their friend is ok or can check on them easier.
I chose not to give out my personal information. Some friends know my name but I don't put that information out there all the time.
But it would be nice to have more people care. Makes me sad that people didn't notice that I wasn't on during the week like I always am. We know our friend's habits. We should notice when someone is missing. And we should ask when something is different.
Hell, people don't even care when its my birthday. I'm that much of an unloved person
A lot of people on here worry about you, love you and wish that you find away to a better life.
We do hope you will let us know how you are, whenever it is possible.
HUGS
