Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Why can't we get breaks in life? You know how at most jobs, you can take like a 10-15 minute break? Life doesn't allow breaks, at least not mine lately. I'm so financially strapped that it's going to be a balancing act trying to figure out which bills are priority, and what can wait to be paid. I'm tired mentally, emotionally, and physically. There is nothing much to look forward to in my future, and there's not much I will be able to do financially anyway. It's one of those times when I kind of wouldn't care if I got hit and killed by a car or something.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
But I hear ya! I tried working part time more like almost full time & was also taking college full time for in that one summer and I still couldn’t afford a place of my own. I was staying at a homeless shelter the whole entire summer and believe me when I say I wasn’t even offered 15 minute breaks at work and I couldn’t take the usual half an hour to an hour lunch… it was new to me because I had not worked in years. I was a stay at home momma. I too wanted to quit ALL buuuuuut I knew that’s not the way to problem solve. I was referred to a local mental health agency to help cope with financial hardship & living obligations on top of the problem that drove me to those extremes, getting out of a single sided relationship with my spouse of two decades… where I became diagnosed with a mental health disorder. I hope you hang on to your common sense buddy. You are appreciated. And again no you deserve to rest and enjoy the fruits of your labor just like we all should.
Its very tough not having anything to look forward to. I know that feeling. It's like - is this really all life has? Why stick around? I try to imagine a better situation for myself but it's short lived. It's hard when your physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted.
I hope we have better days ahead. Not sure what that looks like, but maybe just knowing we/you are not alone will take a little of the sting away.
Sending you a hug.
