All about controlling that reaction. Just a word. Any meaning given to it, is done by the individual.

Ive learned to use the word condition,but have been called mental on occasion I dont like that

Obeylix-------------I don't agree with you. That word is a trigger for thousands of people. I am not as confident a person as you are.

I get what you mean...any "mental" troubles, be they eating disorders or schitzophrenia, tend to make "normal" people look at us like dangerous freaks who are apt to attack them at any moment.

Even psyche has negative connotations. It very easily becomes psycho. Any word dealing with a mental malfunction would be derogatory in some way.
Yes, I do have quite a thick skin but I think of it in a different way. All about taking that word back. It has worked for other sections of society and it can work for those of us that have some sort of mental issue.
