Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Also have you discussed this with your therapist. You may want to "interview" a few different ones until you find the right fit. Not all therapists are for everyone. Also there are different types of therapy, you may respond better to a different method? Just a thought
Why are yu waiting so long to seek answers and help??? Has your pdoc not advised yu to go back in 8-10 weeks to let him know how the meds and therapy are working? this is too long to wait before any kind of meds or therapy are suppose to help!
he mentioned "Cognitive Therapy" He said he thought it was better than the drugs, errr, he used the words 'medications', I have never heard of it so he told me it was a way of using therapy to re-train ppl's thought process.'
U might look into it I know I am.....

~change your thoughts...fight the negative loop in your head...use affirmations.

You have the power to fight this and feel well all on your own, Truly!
After my last major episode of depression (which lasted almost 3 yrs!!!!), I found a new p-doc. Turns out that while I had been dx with major depression over 20 yrs. ago, I am actually ADHD, which caused my depression.
Now that I am on the proper meds, I am doing soooo much better. Perhaps you too have been mis-diagnosed, or have another issue which has never been addressed. Good luck...hope you find something that works for you.
I hope you feel better soon. One thing I think I'm going to try (if I can get myself motivated and brave enough) is going to a local support group that meets weekly for people with mood disorders. Possibly you could find one where you live.
