I have been on more medications then I can count. And none of them have worked. You know what has been the best? Its called Omega 3. Its natural, fish oil. Take that (can be found in any health food store) excersise 4 times a week for 20 min and eat healthy. Try eating marcrobiotics. http://www.macrobioticcooking.com/ try it, it takes a while to work and you gotta keep with it. But it really does. Those medications that they put you on don't work, they just hurt your body. This is all natural stuff

I have been on 3 or 4 different meds until Effexor & Celexa. I am stille not 100% but keep on going . The meds are not the cure all , we have to work at it as well . I wish there was one magic pill to stop all this

i tried about 5, finally i took effexor for over 6 years, i am now on NOTHING and have never felt better, i am not sure why but the effexor was really bad for me, it just made me feel shitty and unattached all the time.

Not enough room here to list all the stuff I have taken, but two weeks is a very short time to be making adjustments. 4 to 6 weeks is usally a minimum before a Psy Doc will start adjusting dosages.

Hang in there for a couple of months and give them a chance.

Unfortunately everyone reacts differently to meds and it's often hard for doctors to know what's likely to be the best treatment. Like pretty much everyone else who's replied here, I've been through more medications than I would care to remember and a lot of the I had to stop due to side effects. I'm on Wellbutrin, Abilify and Klonopin right now, and I'm not having negative effects with them, I'm just not sure I'm having particularly positive effects either. For me, therapy has been the best treatment, but it is a tiring process, and it really is a process.

I was on Paxil for about 8 years, then I had a car accident and one of the hospitals I was in put me on Effexor, and I would definitely request either one. This is just advice from an experienced depressed person.

I understand the feeling like giving up. Have wanted to do that many times. Infact have stopped taking meds for just that reason. But then it's another therapy session day (twice a week) and I go and I continue. Why? Idk. Effexor XR is current med. but doc is starting Tegetol as well. Effexor has been good for me. Tried a lot of others before this one. Keep trying you find one that works. Don't know aboutthe natural stuff, maybe should look into it. :)

2 types of AD's put me in hospital with an allergic reaction, I was switched from tegratol to lithium cos it was a better option for me and they replaced the immovane with seroquel cos immovane has a high dependency and left me with a foul taste in my mouth.

I've been on 7 medications with no success. It's quite clear that antidepressants isn't the right path for me and I need to find other options. Now I'm looking at more natural things and the possibility of there being a problem with my thyroid or other hormones. Everyone is different though. Have you gotten any blood tests to rule out the option of it being medical? You should get a blood cell count, and check your hormone functioning, especially thyroid since a thyroid that isn't functioning properly can make you depressed. Just a suggestion.
