Our sex life is almost nonexistent, and we've only been married 3 & a half years! It's crazy. We go months without it. Definitely not a healthy relationship. In other ways things are good. I mean he is a great man and would do anything for me (except things like hang hooks on the wall or other small tasks, takes weeks/months of asking that eventually turns into me being HIGHLY annoyed).
Was he always the way you described or was he romantic etc in the beginning?
It seems every relationship I have ever had they start of wonderful and then turn into something else.
I feel like I have two choices - accept him for who he is and feel lonely and undesirable because he is my friend, or leave him and give up on love altogether. Because it seems hopeless. I pushed away most of the guys I dated after my divorce in 2009 because of my BP (when I turned into a raving lunatic while drinking).
I honestly think some men are completely clueless when it comes to love and affection. They aren't doing it on purpose. But I understand exactly what you mean when you said you had arguments over it. We have countless times. Instead of trying to make an effort they take offense to us telling them what we need and say things "I can never do anything right" "you're never happy" etc. If your husband would tell you how happy and close to you he'd feel if you kissed him hello and goodbye everyday (for example) wouldn't you do it?
I honestly just don't get it. The things we need when it comes to love and relationships (at least in my case) is not anything difficult.
I hope everything works out for you xo
