Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I just realized once day that I am so miserable I could barely move out in my bed. And I start thinking and asking why. A moment of silence. There I heard a voice said "You already have anything you need" And that was the start of my healing journey.
I write my thoughts, a lot of prayers and a lot of big decisions happened a long the way. I traveled and work abroad. Moment by moment my life starts to unfold and I can't wait to be where I am supposed to be.
The feeling of being broken and damaged is due to the realities that is set by others to us. Because our reality conflicts to their reality it creates friction causing us to feel emotional/depress and crazy. I have come to realized that the end of the day what we really wanted is to be safe and secure, to be love and feel belongingness.
I am always searching, always questioning the life I was given. But I know I will get there. I wont give up.
And the fact that I can do this means you can too. You and I are no different, just different experience/situation but the same feeling.
Know that you are not alone, ask for help always, pray and pray. Find a way. The fact that your still breathing matters it means there is still hope. ;)
In the past things have been extremely bad, so I have realised that i lived most of my life in extreme survival mode, only now am I attempting 'real life' and I am quickly discovering I am simply not equipped. Boredom can be even more destructive than blind chaos sometimes.
I was hoping some kind of life affirming moment might occur through clean eyes, you know...seeing the world in a new way...all that bullshit, unfortunately I am discovering it's pretty much the same but it hurts more when things fall on your head.
I'm just feeling so so lonely.
I want the feeling to go away now, I have really had more than enough of this feeling in my stomach, I feel like it's always been there...that sinking, aching sadness. I just want to move forward, and instead of just pretending to cope, pretending to feel hope...I want to actually feel able.
Ok, I'm bored of myself now...apologies for ranting aimlessly.
My experience of depression is a desperate need to be connected with, but an absolute lack of sense of connection. I actually think that isolation is part of the disorder. Have you tried any medication? I ask because it helped me enormously with this. :)
The sinking aching feeling - it ends. But it doesn't happen immediately. You have to give yourself enough time.
in short you're being unrealistic. You have a whole new normal to create. :D That's a lot of work.
I'm not quite there yet myself, after 7 yrs. Feel much closer to it though. Most of the time I feel perfectly fine and I probably would be there now if only everything in my life didn't keep changing. How old are you? How long were you living life no. 1?
For the most part life is a defecation receptacle.
In my mind and heart, I feel or imagine so much love and connectedness toward my closest family and friends, yet I am asked repeatedly whether I love or care about them at all. I feel increasingly like I am misinterpreted, misunderstood, even invisible to an extent. I see people all around me expressing and sharing with one another the kinds of feelings I feel - seemingly open to a constant exchange of ideas and emotion. I just feel like I'm stuck outside in a numb dimension, and no one can hear me or feel what I feel. I've always felt this way to an extent, but in the past year, I suffered tremendous emotional trauma, which has left me fearful, unable to trust, and very withdrawn and reclusive. I've arrived at the conclusion that perhaps it is not others who can't hear or empathize with me - - but rather I who am not reaching out as intentionally as I imagine.
I know I'm depressed, and as a result, I've put up walls to prevent more hurt. Or perhaps I am being heard, but I am missing the cues? Maybe I need to reach out more loudly and persistently-
Anyway, I'm sorry that you are struggling in such a lonely and frustrated way: I can imagine your experience...and I wish you a big breakthrough, and warm, meaningful connections to others very soon! Just know that someone out here is thinking of you, and at least trying to answer you and extend an open hand in return:)
