Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Worse of all is the fact that we have had fake suicides reported here (hence people asking for links to some form of proof).
One thing that I think will help is a change to the friend logic where we can identify those few with whom we have strong connections. That way we can reach out more easily when we really need help.
I've got no more room in my worry box for that particular subject, so, while I do feel bad hearing about it, I have stayed away from those threads.
There is not a lot we can do here, as members of DS, if a person is headed that way. We can listen and give love, and if we are close with the person, maybe we might have contact info to send authorities to check on them.
That's about it, really.
Pathetic joke to me.
I think we are here and open ourselves up to others in frienship
But people who are suicidal need alot more help than we can offer at DS. If I see anyone who is terribly depressed and talking about harming themselves I always try and encourage them to go to a hospital
I dont know what more we can do as we dont even really know who many of our friends are
Bless you my friend
