Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

See a Dr. Are you on antidepressants? If you find the right one they can be very helpful...If you are on them...I think maybe it is not the right one...
Helping others...volunteering....getting out of myself...helps too.
There are grieving groups in some areas...maybe research that too?
Gentle hugs
.I really think meds will help if only for a little while
I was always AGAINST them...but honestly...I found one that keeps me level.
Wow, that is a very sad story about your daughter. That sounds like very bad practice on the part of the doctors. I can really understand your reluctance to use meds.
You have made the first step, like Missy said. The next step is to get a full evaluation (emotional and physical).
The step after that is very likely to be therapy. You get to control the use of meds; given your experiences with your daughter I can understand it if you give them a huge NO if they suggest it. You have that right!
Continuing hugs
Not to fear. All is forgiven on the other side. There's only love and peace.
There is a Bereavement board here that is more grief-specific as far as grief as the cause of depression that might be of more help.
