It's what we like to call a "luv troll." Ultimately, they're just trying to "start an online relationship" with you, so they can get you to trust them enough to give them personal information and/or get you to give them money. It happens all of the time, and it's ridiculous. If you report them, DS will take care of it and close their account. Remember to keep the message from them and write in your report that the message is in your messages. However, they'll probably just create another account when they're banned. I guess some people do fall for it.

When I was 16, I once had a "luv troll" who was supposedly 49-years-old hitting on me. It was weird. I reported it and his account got banned.

The love scam PMs... Your best bet is just delete them when you get them. If I get more then one from the same person.It's when I do contact DS and or a CL etc.

There was a rumor of a DS member who thought they'd be smart and just troll the scammer and it went very very south very quickly so best to just ignore them. Although does makes me wonder how many do fall for them.

Don't feel bad about them it seems most of the men on DS get them on DS so your not being singled out as a easy target.

I've been wanting to hook up one "luv troll" with another "luv troll's" email address, claiming it was my email address, so they could have a little fun. ;) I would like to troll them back that way. They deserve it. Does anyone know of any luv troll's email addresses. We need to hook Carolin up with someone. >:)

Some of them give out their email and ask you to email them. Pretend to be interested in a luv troll and tell the troll, "I'm interested in you, too, baby. I would like to know more about you, hun and explore love. Here's my email: carolinekhalifa@yahoo.com. Please contact me immediately, babe. I can't wait to talk to you."
.......or something along those lines.

Then tell Carolin that you will be emailing her soon. ;) She will think it's you.

Then they'll go at it for awhile thinking that it's too easy and then they'll eventually realize that something's up. >:)

I get these. I suspected they are attempting to gain identity info. I always delete them.

I did not know this once, but have discovered there are those who can access our profiles from the web and attempt to "hack" us if they gain info from us so they can.

Anyway, they go in the "trash" pile in my computer.

Why do people do weirdo stuff like this?
