Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I think it works, but we must be careful about how much we use it. When we use it too much we deny issues, and reinforce the notion that we need to be ashamed of our selves.
The counter to this is when we never use the fake happy. Then we are seen as gloomy people, and our social interaction tends to drop to zero.
Sigh.
I think the trick is to find a place like DS where we can stand up and say "DAMNIT I HURT!"
Hope you feel better saying what you did. But there has got to be more to it; so when you are ready blurt that part out too!
"I want to kill myself" - look at that phrase, there are two people there? I and myself
so that means that someone, or something is watching this depression that is attacking "myself"
who is aware that I am depressed. the peace within watches.
example... go to the beach for a minute, see the ocean, feel the breeze, take in the place where the ocean meets the sky upon the horizon. that is you..right...
that is the place you are that watches the depression (like a cloud) appear. and we then think its us. its not... you are THAT which the cloud of depressions lands upon.
this is how i deal with this... does it make me happy, no, does it take it away no.. but it does allow me to see and watch the cloud appear, knowing its not me, that helps as i know all clouds pass. and when looked at directly clouds are space too.
yep, I know how you feel, but it'll get better, 'it'll be ok in the end, if its not ok, then it's not ok'
Im here if you ever need to chat :) xx
