Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I literally have no friends and I used to be able to talk about my depression to my family but they told me that they can’t handle it anymore. I just feel so empty and lonely, I keep trying to feel the void with alcohol and food but it only feels good in the moment. I know it’s stupid but I’ll harm myself a lot because i blame myself for being lonely and depressed. Idk how much longer I can live like this.
I'm very familiar with the feelings you're describing. It's terrible pain. Hugs and prayers.
Are you still in school? If so, is there a teacher or counselor you can trust to talk to about your struggles?
Please don't blame or harm yourself. You are a valuable person who deserves to be loved and cherished.
I recently heard about a lady name Ann VosKamp who recovered from self harm. She wrote a book called The Broken Way. Please try to get a copy of her book. Reading her story may help you understand your emotions.
Saying a prayer for you.
I googled quickly the name and "gay" and the author lumps being gay in with a number of unfortunate life events;
"Are you a child of addiction?
Or of divorce?
Have you lost a child?
Or a grandchild?
Do you have a daughter who became pregnant as a teen?
And then a second time?

Being gay isn't second best.
Being gay doesn't need to be fixed.
Being gay doesn't need to be "talked" about.
You want to talk to a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL .... who is trained, dedicated, experienced, and capable of helping you.
Give your parents a break.
Neither alcohol, food, or harming are solutions either. Get serious about fixing this ... and quit working AGAINST yourself. Get yourself in front of a DOCTOR and tell him/her everything you have posted here. Make it your TOP priority.
