Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
So stop. Right now you have to live this down, that could take some months. Just stop trying to gain any attention or care from friends and family: you need it from a professional. When it comes to your social interaction, carry your own weight alone (well, with help on the sidelines from your counsellor). Grit your teeth and fight your way through your demons. Work out what it takes for you to carry you. Show your social contacts that you have courage, and you will gain their respect - and when you have respect you will have invites and time spent with them. You will also gain self-respect which is a strong ally against depression and despair.
So on a practical level, you need a doctor, you need medication, and you need counselling. FIGHT for those things. Fight to get them! Talk to your mother, day after day, till you get them! Be a pain in the neck about it till you get it.
Remember daily that this is a short period of your life. Also: so you thought you would be a doctor. and now you are not going to be a doctor. Time to start thinking about some other career then. Talk to your guidance counsellor at school. your life isn't dependent upon being a doctor. That was an idea you had, but it didn't take account of the facts so just let it go. Do something else.
