My psychiatrist has me on Lamictal 200mg a day. It worked ok for awhile & now, not so much. He took me off the Seroquel a couple of weeks ago, because the side effects were horrible. He didn't replace it with anything & my anxiety is through the roof. He DID give me Clonadine, which is a high blood pressure medicine. It sure does calm me down, but I was already taking HBP medication, and he knew that. My depression is worse, which makes the anxiety worse. A concept I know many of you are familiar with.
Lamictal is for BP, which I do not have, but he said it sometimes works better than a AD, esp. if you've tried so many & none of them seem to work for long periods. I am thinking I am just one of those people for whom medication doesn't work. I am going to ask about ECT, or ask for an RX for the Fisher-Wallace stimulator. Has anyone else tried one of those? What were the results? I found a couple on ebay, which amazed me because you're supposed to have a RX for it. I am reluctant to buy one from ebay, you never know if it will work or not. Thanks!

It has electrodes that you put on your temples & it sends light electronic pulses to the brain. It's either this, or having ECT. The neuro-feedback isn't doing a thing for me, what a waste of time & gas.
My doctor added Lamictal to my Effexor, I'm definitely NOT bipolar, but she wanted to see if the lows wouldn't be so low. I think it's working, but I've been dealing with a lot so it's hard to tell. She said that I could be resistant to medication and suggested I talk to a naturopath. Haven't done it yet.
