Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I was taking 60mg of Prozac, when I got off of it the last time. I felt so much better, that I decided to take myself off my meds. What a dumb move that was. That was several years ago though and I know to never do that again. I'm just starting to wonder if it's time to try something else. I've tried so many medications though, and Prozac is the only one that's helped me. All the other ones I've tried either made me feel worse or I couldn't deal with the side effects.
And when it comes to keeping busy I have the opposite problem, I keep doing things when I shouldn't lol. Well one of the "problems" I have is music, I produce it write etc. I'd suggest learning an instrument maybe? The piano may be fun for you, but it takes patience. Or listening too it can help.
I love music too, and I always try to find something to do. Sometimes I don't feel like it but at least my mind is not focusing on negative things (like I used to do during the 1990s. I would sit on the couch and stare into space all day because I had nothing to do). I agree wity wanderingvet too much idleness can cause all those things. Not only do I enjoy music, I love to play pc games whenever I have the time.
I have two cats and they are like kids, regardless what time it is in the morning, they want to be fed and loved. :)
