Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Posting here because I know more people in this group than any other, and many of you are parents and know my issues...that sounded bad.
(J = Roys mom, read my journal from July 15th for whole story) There was a big fight this weekend. Basically Roy wanted to spend Friday night to work on home work Friday night and Saturday morning. Then go with J to a family event and hike after church on Sunday since J would not be there, J said ok. Then said she wanted him home, he became very upset. I took him home. Saturday he came over, but refused to go home. I had J come in my apartment, she yelled at Roy and when he still refused to go home she said fine live with DJ. I tried talking to her and A, the grandmother, but baking banana bread was more important. They said Roy would be going home that night and going with J to several functions on Sunday. She called Roy, not me, latter and asked if he wanted to come home, he said no. He stayed. Sunday came and no one called with what we were doing. So Roy and I decided since he was stressing out about seeing A at church we would try one I wanted to try. J called and said to bring him to their church, although I thought she wasnt going. I tried talking to her with no luck. So we went with my church. This pissed J off and she called during church and we had a small fight. I told her the boy needed a stable family and we cannot keep changing schedule around like this. She wanted to come pick the boy up and I told her to come on over. I left church went back to my apartment, called her and told her I was home and she said she was on her way.
She did not show up and I called her again, no answer. Than a cop came knocking on my door to pick him up. I do not know what is going on. I have tried to talk to J and A and they refuse to listen to me or talk to me. A thinks all of Roys problems are me and school. That they do not know what is going on with the boys. I do know, but they refuse to listen. I have a couple dozen journal pages Roy has written at my request to get his feelings out. Something I strongly believe in. I am thinking of showing the last one to J and A and telling them I will hand over the remainder to the counselor, who I have been trying to get J and A to take both boys to for months now.
I did find a free one and they are suppose to start on the thirtieth. I might also list what I see with Roy in a letter, and hand it to them tonight. Any comments? My biggest fear is losing the boys trust with the journals because he gave them to me so no one would see them, yet if I fight it will look like I am fighting for the boy. I have no legal right to, and I do not want to push them further away. The boys need help, they need someone who loves them. A believe J is an alright parent and provides everything the boys need which is pure BS. Roy has been off asthma meds for two months now! Come on. Anyway I am rambling. Basically do I show the journals to J and A and demand they go to counseling, or will it look like I am making stuff up. So confused.

You are in a tough spot. How about asking the boy to hand them over? Explain to him that it might help his situation for others to know the truth...

yes I like Testys idea too DJ xx

The boy is confused. His mom would only throw them away. I am only handing over a copy to the grandmother who might be the only way for the boys to recive help at this point, although I do like the idea...hmmm.

Hugs and good luck...BTW...love your screen name...xx

Have him hand a copy of it to his grandmother, and if he sees a counsellor, to the counsellor as well maybe? Yes... she may throw them out, but then she will at least have read from her son's hand how he feels...
