Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
It's natural for people who love you to worry about you, but ultimately, it's their responsibility to manage their own worries and their own behavior related to their worries. And the best way to alleviate that might be too talk it out. Please, please do not harm yourself.
Everyone has something they can offer others, and you are no exception. I know how difficult it is to fight these demons in your mind and to tell yourself that they are poisonous voices and that your truth and who you are is so much more.
So let us tell you now.
You deserve to live.
Being alive can be so painful sometimes but it's also pretty damn rad.
Don't leave. Think of the reason you reached out here instead of just going to end it. Think of what made you want to fight hard enough to come here first.
Don't go. Stay. Talk to us for a while. We want to hear all of it and we want to support you.
Be safe, be loved!
And it's moments like these when we tend to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak - there's nothing like a super low depression or a traumatic experience or going through life-changing stuff to show you who your true friends are.
Do you have even one friend or family member you might be able to reach out to and tell them what you're telling us now? Sometimes we need to get out of our minds and our broken hearts and hear it from someone else.
Even if you think you have pushed them away and that no one cares anymore, just try to remember that might not be true. Sometimes we judge ourselves very harshly and we forget that everyone doesn't think about us the way we think about ourselves. I hope this doesn't sound harsh because it's not intended to be but people can't read your mind. If you're struggling, let them know.
And if you can't do that, I'm glad you reached out here. We're here to support you and lift you back up and out of this.
You're not alone anymore.
