Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My experience of depression is that it comes with a sense of injustice. Of being treated badly and not knowing what to do, thinking I had to endure it, all that sort of thing. disempowerment.
And to say 'yes, you deserve to feel this way' is a way of saying you're in a position to change it. If it's not your fault, you can't fix it. You have to get the one inflicting it on you to fix it. You can't fix your relationship with your boss if you're already doing everything right. Find something you can learn, find something you can change.
Taking blame and fault is a power move, and a vital one to getting well. If you don't fix your life your depression won't lift.
I think a better question to ask oneself might be "am I enjoying this?????"
Am I having a good time here?
And if the answer to THAT is 'no', then get off your arse and change it.
