It may be, but I think the more likely reason is that his political party is being pulled in different directions, and he was not able to unite them. It may have not been possible for anybody to unite them until they go through some organizational pain. (So to speak.)

I only hope and pray that our leaders are able to look into their hearts and govern to the needs of the people, not the wants of their own party. (I feel the same way about all political parties, no favoritism here!)
