So I looked up what a group interview was, when I was told I'd be in one over the phone, and honestly I usually just assume the worst when it comes to job interviews. A group interview could be 2 things but honestly I think I got the panel interview... meaning I'll be interviewed by more than one person in a room.

I honestly think some people are just jerks and assholes in job interviews. I've had people tell me I wasn't going to be anything unless I do certain things... like go to college. (I have a plan besides college, but honestly I dont consider crippling debt to be an option... I'm not in any debt by the way. Plus bankruptcy doesn't eliminate college debt or credit card debt. We'll get into what a scam it is some other day.)

The worst interview I ever had was a man who started drilling me with questions really fast... saying rude things to me.. then started yelling and screaming at me.... I went home and cried that night and I took note of that interview as something I should look out for. (it was an interrogation, not an interview)

I told my mom I was bummed about the group interview. She said if it gets to be inappropriate I should just stop the interview and leave. Don't let or give them the opportunity to be extremely rude or yell at you. I, of course, normally walk away when people start to yell and raise their voice; but in an interview it's an extremely stressful and high pressure situation since I'm looking for a job for the money.

I'm use to one on one interviews, but if this even gets slightly out of hand then I'm calling it off. Another factor that's adding to my bum-ness is the fact that this job is going through a police dept. meaning this could go real bad real quick if I don't answer correctly. I'm not interviewing to be a police officer... cause honestly I dont like police officers, they tend to be rude and assholes, plus have an idiotic soldier mentality that I also hate.

First of all you should look at it this way...I'll do the interview and see if I want the job, not see if they want you. Also, don't think they'll be horrible, they want a good employee too. If you google interview questions and psychometric tests, psychological tests for interviews that should cover it all. They ask really stupid questions for the psychological bit like putting you in a situation and asking you how you would react so research the company as well.But foremost, remember that the interview is your opportunity to see if the job is for you, not the other way round : ) Good luck mate : )

I have been in plenty of group interviews, they are not all that bad...Sometimes I prefer them. You know when you are in a interview and the person asks you a questions and you can't think of a answer, well in a group interview that's usually when someone else will step in and rephrase the question for you to understand. I am a medical assistant and have done all my interviews through doctor offices with doctors...People that I think would be equally intimating as a police officer...Don't stress out too much, you will do fine. And your mom is right, you are in charge of the interview, if it;s going south...Just excuse yourself. I have gone home crying from interviews plenty of times :P Had one idiot interrupt me to answer his cell phone...I've had people swivel there chairs around so they could talk to each other about video games like I wasn't even in the room :(

If that's how that IDIOT acted in an interview, imagine how he would act in the workplace. Wouldn't want to work with him / for him! I bet they have a huge turnover of staff.

I forgot to mention, one way to lesson the stress of a interview and make yourself look better is by interviewing them when they are finished with you. When they get to the point where they ask you if you have any questions just grind them with as many as you can think of...All about the company ect. Make em' sweat a little ya know.

last monday i just had the worst interview of my life. it was really all my fault-- i choked and frose up and just psyched myself out. it was an almost sure thing and they didnt hire me. i still feel bad, but it was a learning experience, like how not to get over hyped for an interview, to relax. and also i attained my worst fear, and i guess im still here, so i'll fear it less next time.

buy i'm not physically small guy, and if someone cross the line with rudeness, let's just say i might scare the sh!t out of him from ever doing it to another.
