Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
deep breathes; breathing is your oldest friend. I feel like Im loosing it most of the time too. Try to take it one moment at a time. I have terrible depression sometimes . . . Messy divorce, blah blah blah. No one wants to hear about my problems so I plaster the smile on my face. Im going for a walk now; that always seems to help me. Hopefully these feelings will pass. Keep talking/posting . . .
Hoping you feel better soon...
Was reading more about the brain zaps today, and yeah, it could just be the Klonopin withdrawal causing brain changes. Also, even just extreme stress or anxiety can cause brain zaps, isn't that crazy. I did read though, that your brain can be retrained in a positive way, so it can be reversed. It may also just pass in time.
I am working on getting through severe anxiety and depression myself, and what helps me is to read daily positive affirmations, exercise (seems to increase endorphins and creates a "feel good" feeling in the body and also reduces anxiety (particularly feelings of my heart thudding all the time). Positive connections with others, in my life or even here on DS. You will make it through, remember, we are soldiers.
I can guess u felt unseen, unheard as a child by a parent or someone very important to u, they didn't believe u. Sevennn u must believe in yourself, u r a grown man, u must shed the skin that no longer fits u, like a snake, u must be your own father now. U must have your own back, and be strong for that more vulnerable side of u, we all have 2 sides, let the stronger side help the weaker side, as if u were a father consoling a young boy. U will come through this, maybe not today or next week, but u will, change and growth is painful, but the whole world will open up in front of u in the end. Believe.
