Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
The holidays. Family. Chores. Life. Being an alive person. I'm basically an unpaid home healthcare worker taking care of my mom. I do basically all the household chores, including laundry, keeping the dishwasher going, and light cooking. On top of that, I'm expected to keep myself alive; eat, sleep, shower, and any one of those can be done improperly. Add in the holidays, gift selection, wrapping, shipping. And I just discovered my A1c makes me pre diabetic, and I was prescribed creams for rashes. Everything in my body is telling me to cry and scream out "no! No more! All done now". I cannot deal with all of this right now. Even as I'm typing this, I'm fighting back hot, stinging tears, because if I collapse... what does that accomplish? Nothing, except making me look like a child throwing a temper tantrum. That's what I feel like though; a lost child, expected to navigate too much because of something as arbitrary as my age. I hate it. I hate it... I need it to stop...

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

Does anyone follow her? She's really got some good tips.

taking care of your mother? Even just once a
week? My mother broke her hip and I moved
back home to take care of her for about two and
a half weeks. Until an agency could come help
her daily. My brother lived with her but wasn't much
help. I was feeling like I wanted to scream after one week.
The only time for myself was sitting on the porch for 10
or 15 minutes every few days.
What happens to your Mom if you are not able to continue doing what you do?
Depending on her age, illnesses maybe some research into elder care services.
As for your own health, think of what is done on airplanes. An Adult Is Told To Breath In Air Before Giving Air To A Child...if the parent passes out, they can't help their child.
In your case, the reverse <3
Letting it out is good..If you need to have a good cry it can be cathartic
Punch a pillow....Some type of exercize might help with pent up energy
Big squishy hug...xo
