Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
There's a group I'm in called widow/widowers in case you want to join that one too :)
I cannot imagine how you feel. I can offer you my listening tools(a.k.a., ears/two) if you need to talk, vent, ramble, etc.; I hope your heart heals knowing what only the two of you knew!
Take care.
I have come to disagree with the concept of stages of grief, mostly because that implies that once we manage that stage it is a huge setback if we go back and enter it again.
I prefer to think of it as the emotions of grief.
We may think that we managed a particular emotion only to get hit by it again. The way I look at it is that we dealt with that emotion based on the way it got triggered. If it hits us again, then, to me, all it means is that the same emotion got triggered differently. Perhaps the "same way" as before, only stronger, or some other trigger was involved.
Yes, I agree with the others here. Seek out bereavement therapy, group or private, free or paid.
On the one hand there are millions of others among us who have managed very similar losses. On the other hand, this is our first time through this experience and it can just seem so overwhelming.
I will be praying for you.
God bless!
