What would you do, or think I should do here.
First is probably more simple. I have a work holiday party tomorrow and my GF is on a four day aderal bender with no sleep, yet again. Do I leave her here and go? I am sick of missing things because of her. She acts so F'D up when she gets no sleep for so long that I don't get to do anything because I feel guilty leaving her alone.
Second is even more F'D up in my mind. My cousin who has been close friends with ex-wife invited me via facebook to a christmas eve get together. Normally she invites me and my son through my ex and I decline out of principle. This time it is kinda of direct. However Facebook lists the guest and my ex-wife is on the list, a small list also. My son is cought in the middle of this also, he lives with me and might want to go.
I have social anxiety so both these events are hard enough to begin with to even attend and I haven't been out in over a year for a social function.

My parents divorced way before it was cool or even ok to be divorced. But, they always put us first. I mean they acted civil around each other, my father always spent the holidays with us at her house or rather my home. They did not act uncomfortable around each other. They did it for the 5 of us. It worked out pretty good.
Thanks, I just answered my own question or doubt for the holidays. I live with my daughter and my ex is coming for Christmas. I have been upset about this. I mean I don't say anything but it has me nervous.. Well, I will just have to roll up my sleeves and act like a grown up with the best intentions of the children. They love their Pop. I hate it, I know I will be very anxious for a week when he leaves.

The Christmas Eve one is tougher. I would just say, trust your instincts. If it feels right to go, if it feels like you and the ex can get along for a few hours, go. But if you really feel like the atmosphere would be tense and this would backfire on your son, don't go. You know these people very well, so trust your instincts.
