Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I used to take A LOT of medications perhaps over 1 1/2 years ago. There was a paper that I would have to fill out in the waiting room of my psychiatrist's office. I would have to list all of my medications. I think there were 8 spaces, and I exceeded those 8 spaces. This was before my seizures became extremely severe, and I didn't even know I had seizures. I was only being treated for severe depression, anxiety, and ADD and I was taking 8+ medications. It turns out that I didn't have ADD, and it was a misdiagnosis. I had poor concentration and memory, which was caused by seizures, not ADD.
400 mg Lamictal
5 mg Abilify
900 mg Lithium
400 (yes 400) mg Visteral
I hate having to take so many meds because it's embarrassing to me. I took them once in front of my friend and she was like whoa. I have to go to the bathroom to take them if I'm at someone's house or going out. When I'm out, they look at me funny as they check their hair. Like damn what's wrong with her.
