I hate interviews but have a knack of convincing them Im perfect for the job. When I first get in, Im nervous and quite shy but as it proceeds I open up and become more gregarious, sort of like everyday.
Its not necessarily about pretending, they are looking for responsible, hard-working people who are able to use their initiative for the good of the company.
Depression does play a part in how we perform, but if we remember its a performance, then things should be fine.
An interviewer does judge, but not you, just a small part of you, the part they can use.

i have a strong belief that the workers lose when the company wins, and the company wins when the workers lose.

when i got my job, in 2006, the company needed someone to unload trucks and stock the floor. i think they would of hired anyone, even someone with a criminal record. I didnt even have my GED... and i got it. i stuck with the job, just to have a job. i dont even think about the pay. eventually i moved up. we now have like 4 truck unloaders. they dont get shit for an opportunity to move up... cause we dont need them now, we can always hire someone else to unload trucks.

i think the interview shows you how the company works. if they can pick and choose, then most likely youre going to hate working there. if you even get the chance to work for them. if they really want you, theyll work with you. it normally takes 60 days before they call. even if they really really want you, all the paper work and stuff takes time.

I call the companies and ask for the personnel or resource. ask if theyre hiring, etc. when the last time they hired, and if they hire often. what i can do for the company, to be their best. what are they looking for. theyll try to redirect you to just put an application on file, but just keep asking questions. if they refuse... theyre not hiring.

then you know if its worth trying for or not.

I used to interview people at a previous job. I was looking to be convinced that the applicant could do the job we needed doing. I made sure that they knew what I would be asking them to do, and that they convinced me they had what it took to do it!

The other half of the interview (which sadly is illegal) is trying to see if they are a decent person and will fit in. But you can't ask questions to establish that, so all companies do it on the sly. Well, at least in the US.

How I feel when I am in the interview and when I walk out depends on how I prepare myself before entering..........if I enter with confidence and the upper hand, believing that I am interviewing them as much as they are me, I leave feeling very self accomplished. It wasnt always easy for me, I had to learn it..........now I interview people.
