Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Its three in the morning and I cant sleep
The clock on the wall just seems to be telling me time is slipping away
With thoughts racing through my mind
Im tired but I cant sit still
Lying on the bed just seems to makes it worse
But its peaceful at this time the world seems so still
No movement in air, just the street light for company
But this the time for rest and I cant sleep
As the clock hits four
Im frustrated even more
Its time to take my feet out the door
I walk for awhile worried the police maybe called
A crazy guys walking around while where all trying to sleep
Because house owners dogs seem to go completely mental at any strangers at this time of day
My head been cleared as I start to make it back to the door
Its five in the morning the birds start to sing
That damn kookaburras laugh still seems to echo through my head
I know its late, I need some sleep
Just a little to get me through the day
Just as my head hits the pillow my eyes too tired to stay open
I hear the next door neighbours complaining the guy next doors had his lights on all night again.
This wakes me up as they talk in the drive
Oh well, Im up now, theres coffee to be had
As I sit and drink my fill, I think to myself
Tomorrow night, if nothing else I can go through all this all again
Seriously...this sucks.
And my dreams have become so vivid, so strange, and generally so bad... that I often times feel as if my mind has started saying "Oh Hell no... we're not going to be suckered into THAT deal again!".
My body has seemingly been tied-up and gagged by my brain... because physically, I am crying out for a good nights rest. I've almost become jealous of those that complain that all they seem to do is sleep all the time. That's a component of depression that I simply can't identify with anymore.
I don't even have a solid 4-5 hour average lately. An hour or two here and there.. then I eventually crash hard after 3 or 4 days... and that's when the theater REALLY opens up with a marathon of seemingly endless B-movies and horror flicks.
Sorry... rambling... can't sleep... *sigh*
I guess I can relate, ZenMaster.
I fear the stars
I fear the moon
I fear never being right
I know when I close my eyes
That soon you will appear
I know that it is over
But my mind believes the lies
My skin still crawls with your touch
My ears ring with the sound of your voice
My breathe escapes me when I struggle
As I still feel my throat within your clutch
I want so badly for these thoughts to leave me
I want for these nightmares to be over
I want to feel normal, not so lost and damaged
I long to run away to just pick up and flee
No matter where I hide
You will always find me
No matter where I run
You will always be
This my mind without enough sleep...ugh
There are MANY causes of insomnia .. over a dozen listed at Wikipedia. ONE of them is "Medical conditions ... such as hyperthyroidism and rheumatoid arthritis."
I think it would be wise to inform your medical doctor of your insomnia.
At least you guys can take pills, sleepy time teas and a few other resorts. Apnea stops you from breathing. Forces anxiety and often panic attacks.
But either way, sleep deprivation is a horrific and terrible thing.
