Do you think that you need to consider some more intensive treatment such as in hospital?
Have you thought about contacting your old counselor to see if she would see you privately?
The new counselot will understand that it is difficult to build the same type of rapport in an instance, and hopefully will have some background from your old counselor, can you be honest about your fears with her?

I have thought about it, but the idea of being back in the hospital terrifies me.
I saw my old counselor on Tuesday, because she felt we needed to meet so she could explain what was happening and sort of say goodbye. Her private practice is almost an hour's drive away. And I couldn't afford to go there anyways. Counseling is free through my school, which is why I'm able to go at all.
My old counselor has also said that she was going to talk to my new counselor about me. As they've worked together they do know each other. And the new counselor does understand. She's taking things slow and letting us get to know each other (I've been seeing her for about 2 months now).
But I know I need more than that right now. And I don't know how to talk to her about anything serious. But I don't have anywhere else to go.

Maybe you are doing too much with the working and studying? Sounds like you need to simplify your life and go with just the basics. Its horrible starting over with a new therapist but maybe its better than no therapist at all.

I don't really have a choice. Have to work to live. And have to go to school to get a real job. :(

One thing you can be comfortable about is that if you can trust anyone, it is your therapist. They cannot report anything about you unless you are harmful to you or to someone else. No, this doesn't need to be in the crisis section. If it's there, how can we help you? I go through the same thing honey, feeling as if my life is never going to get any better and now I have even more going on that has me worried, scared, and hurting. But I know in my heart that things will eventually work out. It may not be in my time, but it will happen. Get a journal that you can write in and put down the pros and cons of what is going on with your life. Then decide how you are going to get your life back into some semblance of order. I have panic attacks or anxiety and I can start crying for absolutely no reason. If you ask me why, I can't always give a reason. Like you, I have trust issues too and I have very high walls for certain things. I am trying very hard to bring them down a little at a time. Talk to your new counselor to start, do some volunteering if you can. Do something that would make you happy and where you can make some new friends. That is where I met my very best friend and we have been together for almost 5 years now. You CAN put yourself together, we are here to help you, ask as often as you need to, okay? Do not be sorry about anything. You made it through your overdose, and you can make it through this. Try to have patience while your counselors get updated. I have gone through that same thing and I have so many issues that it seems like it will take forever. I have grief, abuse, depression, etc and at times it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel...but there is. Hold on sweetie. Go to the hospital if you feel that will help. I find it is just a temporary solution to a forever situation. But it doesnt have to be. I guess. hang in there!

i seames that you night just have a little to much going on in your life right now there is some good advice in here for you ..............maby you can cut dowen the number of classes you are takeing .............untill things settle dowen ...............i was just wordering if you are on eney meds for your epreshion .................i think if it is this bad befor you do somthing like over dose again i would go to the hospital .............at least there you will get the care you need and a much need reast .............i know it is dificult trying to get use to a diferant councler but you need to do what you need to do and you need councling ................it is very good that you have come here to talk we need to talk if we want to get better and everything need to come out everything ...........we wearent built to keep things in ................no need to be sorry it is good for you to come and talk i am here for you ....................god bless you ...........i will keep you in my prayers

You'll get through this! Just hang in there with the new counselor. Take it one day at a time. If you fail your classes, so be it; that happens to a lot of people, for a lot of reasons. Perhaps you can take them again in the future. Your health is the most important thing right now. Does your boss or co-workers know what you're going through? If not, you might just "head them off at the pass" by saying you've got some personal issues you're working through, and you appreciate their patience. You don't have to go into details.

Keep posting here. You're going to be all right. I can understand how it feels like everything's falling apart, but I think you can do this. It sounds like your old counselor is working hard to ensure you have a smooth transition to the new one.

The nice thing about school, is that it will always be there. Is dropping a class instead of failing it an option? As already suggested, can you cut down on the number of classes you are taking?? Fewer classes should reduce your stress level, maybe. I would guess that dropping a class or two would be a better option than cutting your work hours.
You need to focus on yourself and your health and cutback on the stressors in your life where possible, IMO. Give your new therapist time to get to know you. Yes, it is hard to start all over again, but in this case you have to, so try to give it time to work.
Change what you can and accept the rest. Always good words to live by, for anyone in any situation.
