Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Restful
If I didn't have a young child, I would drive 120 miles per hour into a tree. I'm sick of this fucked up world, the struggles, and I'm sick of myself. I suck at almost everything in life, and have mental illness on top of that. The ONLY reason I am still breathing is because I don't want my child to grow up to be as ducked up as I am because he doesn't have a father.

The best antidepressant is when my wishes are honored. An example, the faucet in my apartment was running although the knobs were turned shut all the way, and one of the pulling strings on my ceiling fan came off. As soon as I notified my maintenance man, he was quick to reply with the work order. RAPID response... he's getting my services around my apartment done. I appreciate my landlord and...

Hello,so I'm currently in a weird relationship with my long distance ex who I've never met in person and it's taking a toll on me. I've lost 15 pounds and lost my appetite, but I'm really attached to him. We've had a lot of problems and I think that has caused me to gain severe anxiety. I don't know if I should wait until it gets better or what. Everytime I've blocked him, it has tend to make me...

I don’t know if that’s what you want to hear right now, or what will help but I’m thinking of you.
Maybe today’s just an especially bad day. And things may feel at least a little better tomorrow.
You can only take one day at a time. And it’s good that you have your child to keep you going and to spend time with, take your mind off things even if for just some time.
I know it’s hard to hear but things can get better.
I don’t know what it is your dealing with, what you’ve tried or willing to do to help to get through things but there are ways to slowly help you get there. Maybe it will take time and hard work but little by little you’ll notice a change.
Keep strong, reach out as you have when you need to, it’s a safe space here xxx
You are a warm, caring man who does try to reach out to help others even with your own struggles. You have many good qualities and if you're not careful, I will list them--- (and you know how chatty I can be. lol I can go on for days. )
Unfortunately the world is fucked up and things can pile up on us and bury and almost crush us at times. But we have to hang on, ask for some guidance and grab hold of a friendly hand or two to pull us back out. (There are two 0f us here right now also struggling to pull our way back out too--- and WE BOTH would be there in a heartbeat to lend that hand to you. )
your not alone
The fact that you are battling through this all-consuming pain for your child tells me that you are incredibly selfless and caring. Those qualities are a hell of a lot more powerful in this world than anything else you might feel like you "suck at."
Depression makes us feel awful about ourselves and the world around us. But your ability to look beyond yourself in a time of great pain tells me that you are a good person with a huge heart. It is my sincere hope that you are able to see the goodness in who you are and how much you matter.
