Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Very gentle hugs
mostly nausea and other stomach problems. It gets much better after that and can make a huge difference if it works. If the initial dose causes too many issues , its ok to cut it in half and go up gradually.
I say be careful because at least for my first to psychiatrists, they would only see me every 2-3 months and then if I cried, they would up my dosage or more often, switched medications.
I think it was maybe the Seroquel or the Myrcazapine, and the clonazapam, that made it so I can't cry at all now. I'm serious. I haven't cried in 2 years. I just came from the hospital where I found out my mom's cancer in untreatable. No tears. See my mother too weak to move. Can't cry. I worry that she can't see how sad I am, like I don't care. Not true. Just numb from the pills.
Be careful and get better. Get some counselling, talk it out. Eat healthy. mind/body connection. Get grounded then get off the pills. I hope I don't sound pushy/preachy. It's just that I miss the old me. Don't lose yourself.
They did a wonderful job, elevated my mood and never really got down about anything.
It will help you, i'm sure of it :)
This is my first time on an antidepressant. It terrifies me, to be honest. I didn't read about the side effects, I kind of didn't want to. I hope the side effects aren't too bad. Ugh, that freaks me out a little bit.
Today is day one....
I can't say that it's helping on the depression yet, though. I understand it takes time. I'm not crying as much as I was the week leading up to the medication. I think that just having the medication is a bit of a security blanket, it calms me to know that I have something, I don't feel out of control. I still cry though, and I certainly have really blue days still.
I am the first to admit, however, that I hide it really well. I don't let on that something is wrong, and I talk in my regular up beat ways. I guess I just don't want the spotlight of sympathy or anything like that.
Overall....I am still upright. That's the best I've got right now lol
So if anyone finds themselves a little more sweaty then normal after starting Cipralex, it's just not you!
