Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I know that talking to your parents about depression can be super difficult.
Do you have a school counselor you can talk to? A lot of times they won't tell your parents and you can even get therapy for free.
Do you have anyone you can talk to about it other than your school friends who you normally try to avoid the topic with? Regardless of the answer please feel free to message me if you want to talk about anything at all :)
For me, getting on antidepressants and finding ways to cope with my depression (I really like puzzles so when I'm really depressed I do big jigsaw puzzles, color in intricate adult coloring books, or draw) was extremely helpful. As was talking to people who understood what I was experiencing.
You aren't alone and you can get through this. I believe in you.

I have to ask this because you mentioned that you are unhappy when you are left alone with your thoughts. I, too, experience that, so I try to make sure I always have a plan, a list, a goal, something to be working toward. I deliberately try to stay out of my own head with crazy thoughts running into each other.
Have you heard of Victor Frankl? He wrote a book "Man's Search for Meaning." We all need to have meaning and purpose in our life to be happy.

I know this is a difficult time. But first of all, you are too young to be so defeated. You have your whole life ahead of you with endless possibilities. And second, your parents’ behavior seems to be having a negative impact on you, but you can learn a trade, get a job and move out on your own. Try to find positive things to invest your life, mind and time in.
