That's a tough situation to be in. I feel for you. I wish I could make it all better with just a few words. Right now, you have to think about you getting better then work and finding a job. It can be done but make sure you give yourself time to heal. And hopefully your husband can help support you through this rough time. You should be there for eachother. In the meantim, don't knw if you have any family you could borrow money from for a short while until you get back on your feet. Take care of you, so you can take care of others.

Thanks Fairie Don't have a husband, ex-husband who pays no support owes me about $30,000.00 at this point (he lives with a woman who takes care of him, go figure) and no family in a position to help. I have a live in boyfriend and he is trying but I am feeling so badly about myself I think I am pushing him away. I doubt his every move and it is all due to my feeling so unworthy.
I do have faith and I know I can get through it just have to find my strength and I can't seem to do it. I am so depressed because there is nothing I can do but lay here right now! Thanks for caring, it does help more than you know!

Yes. Unless you have a contract that provides otherwise, in Florida you can be fired for getting sick.

It sounds to me like you need to look into the Florida Welfare system .. for 'relief'. With minors involved, you may get some kind of consideration.

Oh he owes it but claims he has none. He has never paid any child support in 6 years our kids are in college and high school. I don't expect to ever see a dollar of it. I'm not bitter. I don't want his money. I just want/need to find something inside me to take care of me and my kids. This crying and feeling of uselessness is getting me no where! I can't just relax and heal. Thank you Wandering for the legal advise. I worked for Wells Fargo, they knew what they were doing. They required us to underwrite 5 loans a day. We had 14 underwriters in my group we only got in between 18 and 30 loans a day. If you do the math that was impossible. I did all they gave me. No one in the group was doing 5 a day consistantly, not enough work to go around, The day I told them I was going to need surgery, they wrote me up on a formal warning that I was not getting my 5 done. I responded as above, in writing, that I was not given five a day to do. The day I told them when my surgery was scheduled. They terminated me for the same reason saying I had been warned??!!! When I asked about the "others" that we also not meeting the quota, they said we are only here to talk about you and that I did not know what was going on with the others. Untrue we kept a big board up in our office and the number of loans we did each day was written for all to see. Out of the 14 I was always in the top five, most often top 3 and some weeks did the most loans. It was all very unfair but that is how they run their business. I was going to cost them money being out and they were overstaffed anyway! One lady NEVER did more than two a day, all she could handle. She is still there, talked to her today, she is still only doing two loans! I have appealed the unemployment saying lack of available work to meet the quota is just like being laid off. We shall see but it only pays $275.00 per week if I get it. I was making $1300.00 a week. It was just wrong all the way around! but I can't just cry about it life is unfair. I HAVE to find STRENGTH INSIDE TO FIGHT AGAIN!! HOW?????

I am so sorry, you don't deserve this. Your journal entries from the past gave me so much hope. I can't believe that this is it for you. Being laid up makes it doubly hard to try to get through all the red tape, but you are a fighter. Wow--I'll never have anything to do with Wells Fargo after your experience. How can I company be so awful? You're in quite a spot, but I do agree with fairiedust that you need to heal and take care of yourself. Can you repeat a mantra that helps you find your strength? Even if you don't believe it at first? How about "I am pretty and strong and I can handle this."

You never explained what you've done for a living. But you did say that even though you're recuperating, you're getting some positive feedback from potential employers. How likely are these opportunities? I'm not one to be a model of positive thinking--I've been depressed since I was 4 years old (I'm 58)--but if potential employers are contacting you while you can't work, I can only imagine how many more will call when you're back on your feet. Your experience with your previous employer would undoubtedly interest local TV or newspaper reporters, especially with all the attention being paid to health care reform. You might be able to turn your misfortune into a public statement that could also lead to a better job. This is just my opinion, but I wish you the very best.
