Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
BigBradWolf .. have you seen a dr? Medicine isn't always the answer, but short term to get you thru the rough times might be a good idea. Stay strong. Be happy fir what you do have. And vent here. We're all here to help. :)
Ya got a lot on your plate.
Emotionally drained can go on the side there easy.
Hmm 2 jobs, I bet smiling at customers and doing what you are required.. and classes? Which of course means homework too.
Does your college have counseling services? I am also in college and I know most do since a study of Education is part of my goals.
Believe me when I say that it's hard being that picture person and habit forming, so we forget to be truly authentic with ourselves.
List the things you really like to do and the things you may like to do and see if they can give you some ideas on how to get them done along with your schedule. It won't hurt to join a group or two (these all look good on a resume when you finish) but may allow you to interact with a few more while you have downtime activities. Things that are out of your regular thought process do seem to invigorate rather than tire you out some. If there is a theater class or something in the arts will help exercise the other half of your brain, even if it is in the background like set building or performance crew members (there is a lot done behind the scenes to make that stuff look great).
Also a lot of colleges hire from with in...their student body, this helps with tuition and gives you less commute time between job, resources and school. Most of the pay is similar to outside level one jobs that many students do for money. But again it gives you more time to get to know your peers.
Also in each class there maybe a class communication list, send out a message for "Study buddy wanted" in each of your classes. This will help find some one on the same path and maybe interest to have more contact with and get to know. I am just getting that one started after my first two years of college. (laugh I am a 57 yr old college student) Part of my classes require visiting and assessing outside resources, so I have trips to make too. I have a few class mates that I could go double or triple with to accomplish these...which will help me get to know those who are studying like I am to similar goals. We have a common interest built in our schedules.
Keep in mind that this is temporary, the jobs will change as you finish with your studies and the classes will also change as you advance through them, so Wandering Vet has a point. Even at your age a good physical check up is good to make sure there isn't any other reasons for the feelings. Though by your age listed this is not an uncommon thing,Your brain is busy making the final synaptic connections, so getting some new input helps to add more connections to your processing.
I hope some of this helps, and this DS place is a good resource for ideas and friendship. , so keep posting. 3 years ago I had no one to talk with. I now have three I met through here that I hope to meet in the future, that always have my back, One I have met and visited and all three I can call and they can call me... so you never know?
Hugs and support from this student.

The problem with your schedule is that you are too busy being "on" for the jobs and classes to build friendships very deeply.

Unfortunately homework is on my schedule this morn.
Julie has had life long deep depression. So she really understands how hard this is. Her advice of how to just get out of bed each day was really good.
I hope your feeling better soon. Meds can help you get over the worst of this. Good luck.
Sounds like you struggle with socializing for whatever reason. Are you afraid of what people will think or say about your feelings? That you will be judged? Find someone you can trust or just post anonymously on-line. Everyone needs to dump somewhere. If there is an anxiety issue, find a way to lessen it so communicating with others isn't so challenging. I have severe anxiety and take medications and supplements to help. Otherwise I'd never talk to anybody.
You need time for reflection, and time to relax. carve some 'me' time out of that, even if it involves lying on your bed reading a book. And by me time I mean half a day if you can, per week. I can't go more than a fortnight without me time any more; I can feel myself go down.
