Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
take a step back and look at what you have and be thankful that you have that (or if you want to sound selfish, say, i've got more than that dude). if you have a roof over your head and food to eat, you have more than the average homeless guy. physical things aside, i understand that the will to live is not something anyone can give you. only you, yourself, can give yourself that. i know, cause i sometimes find myself thinking, whats the point of it all, no one cares, everything we do is pretty meaningless in the long run, but then i think to myself, it could be worse. my worst fears could come true. even if you're like me, who doesnt know how to be happy anymore, i still have more than someone else. i am not at rock bottom right now, and when everything seems to be crumbling around me, i am not as bad off, as i can be. that is probably the only thing that can convince me to pick myself up. no one else can do that but me.
so take a deep breath, take a step back, look at the world around you, even the small things make some difference.
find something to be responsible for, a life other than your own. (i got a kitty cat, she gave me a sense of responsibility, took my mind off me) you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much love a pet can give you without ever expecting it back (but please do not neglect the life you choose to take care of).
it can always be worse. chin up dude, you're only 17, there is a lot more out there in the big bad world.
